Tsum Valley (Hidden Valley) Trek is located at an altitude of 1905 to 5093 meters and is rich in Tibetan culture, traditions, and ancient art and mostly untouched by modern civilization.

Tsum Valley is bounded by Boudha Himal and Himal Chuli in the west, Ganesh Himal in the south, and Siring Himal (7187m) in the north. The trail passes through two significant villages in the region, Chumling (Lower Tsum) and Chhaikampar (Upper Tsum).

The valley is rich in Tibetan culture with numerous mani walls, chortens and prayer flags adorning the trail and is home to some of the holiest of Tibetan monasteries where the famous sages Guru Rinpoche and the Tibetan philosopher Milarepa once worshipped in nearby caves. It is a place where the trekker can discover oneself and discover peace through meditation.

A visit to this serene valley close to Tibet is alive with wildlife such as the famed blue sheep and Himalayan Thar and its pristine landscape is a sight to behold.

The Tsum valley is predominantly inhabited by Tibetans and even has its own dialect with most villagers dressed in traditional clothes and are devout practicing Buddhists. Their homes also reflect their unique Tibetan architecture.

Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu (1,350m) & transfer to the hotel.
Upon your arrival at Kathmandu’s Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be greeted by a representative who will assist you with the transfer to your hotel. You can spend the rest of the day resting and exploring the vibrant city of Kathmandu.

Day 02: Drive from Kathmandu to Soti Khola (700m) Duration: 6-7 hours.
After an early breakfast, you will embark on a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Soti Khola. The journey takes around 6-7 hours, passing through picturesque countryside, terraced fields, and rustic villages. Once you reach Soti Khola, you will check into a teahouse and spend the night there.

Day 03: Trek from Soti Khola to Machha Khola (870m) Duration: 5-6 hours.
Your trekking adventure begins today as you leave Soti Khola and trek to Machha Khola. The trail follows the Budi Gandaki River, crossing suspension bridges and passing through forests. The trek takes approximately 5-6 hours, and you will spend the night at a teahouse in Machha Khola.

Day 04: Trek from Machha Khola to Jagat (2,340m) Duration: 6-7 hours.
Continuing along the Budi Gandaki River, you will trek from Machha Khola to Jagat. The trail gradually ascends, offering beautiful views of waterfalls, lush vegetation, and towering cliffs. After 6-7 hours of trekking, you will reach Jagat, a small village situated at an altitude of 2,340 meters. Overnight stay at a teahouse in Jagat.

Day 05: Trek from Jagat to Chisapani (1,660m) Duration: 5-6 hours.
Today’s trek takes you from Jagat to Chisapani. The trail passes through terraced fields, villages, and dense forests. You will gradually ascend, enjoying the scenic surroundings and glimpses of the Ganesh Himal range. After trekking for 5-6 hours, you will reach Chisapani, where you will spend the night at a teahouse.

Day 06: Trek from Chisapani to Chumling (2,386m) Duration: 6-7 hours.
Leaving Chisapani, you will trek towards Chumling. The trail offers panoramic views of the mountains and takes you through charming villages inhabited by the Tamang and Gurung communities. As you reach Chumling, situated at an altitude of 2,386 meters, you can explore the local culture and lifestyle. Overnight stay at a teahouse in Chumling.

Day 07: Trek from Chumling to Chokhangparo (3,010m) Duration: 4-5 hours.
From Chumling, your trek takes you to Chokhangparo. The trail winds through beautiful landscapes, passing by ancient monasteries, prayer wheels, and mani walls. As you ascend, you will witness the transition in vegetation and enjoy the serene mountain views. After 4-5 hours of trekking, you will reach Chokhangparo, where you will spend the night at a teahouse.

Day 08: Trek from Chokhangparo to Nile (3,361m) Duration: 5-6 hours.
Today, you will continue your trek from Chokhangparo to Nile. The trail winds through remote landscapes, surrounded by snow-capped mountains and pristine nature. You will pass through small settlements and enjoy the tranquility of the region. After 5-6 hours of trekking, you will reach Nile, a picturesque village at an altitude of 3,361 meters. Overnight stay at a teahouse in Nile.

Day 09: Trek from Nile to Mu Gompa (3,700m) Duration: 3 hours.
Leaving Nile behind, you will trek to Mu Gompa, situated at an elevation of 3,700 meters. The trail ascends gradually, and you’ll have the opportunity to enjoy stunning mountain views and immerse yourself in the peaceful surroundings. Mu Gompa is a sacred monastery and a center for Buddhist learning. You can explore the monastery, interact with the monks, and experience the spiritual ambiance of the place. Overnight stay at a teahouse in Mu Gompa.

Day 10: Hike to Ganesh Himal Base Camp and back to Mu Gompa (4,200m) Duration: 7-8 hours.
Today’s hike is an exciting adventure as you trek to Ganesh Himal Base Camp and return to Mu Gompa. The trail takes you through rugged terrains, rocky paths, and high altitudes. You’ll witness breathtaking views of the Ganesh Himal range, glaciers, and pristine mountain landscapes. After reaching the Base Camp and spending some time in awe of the majestic scenery, you will retrace your steps back to Mu Gompa. Overnight stay at a teahouse in Mu Gompa.

Day 11: Trek from Mu Gompa to Chumling (2,386m) Duration: 5-6 hours.
Today, you will begin your descent as you trek back from Mu Gompa to Chumling. The trail follows a familiar route, allowing you to appreciate the landscapes from a different perspective. You will pass through picturesque villages, terraced fields, and dense forests, immersing yourself in the cultural richness of the region. After 5-6 hours of trekking, you will reach Chumling, where you will spend the night at a teahouse.

Day 12: Trek from Chumling to Philim (1,570m) Duration: 6-7 hours.
From Chumling, you will continue your journey towards Philim. The trail takes you through charming villages, terraced fields, and lush greenery. You’ll encounter friendly locals and experience their warm hospitality. As you descend, the landscapes transform, and you’ll enjoy the serene beauty of the surroundings. After trekking for 6-7 hours, you will arrive at Philim, where you will spend the night at a teahouse.

Day 13: Trek from Philim to Soti Khola (700m) Duration: 6-7 hours.
Today’s trek takes you from Philim to Soti Khola, the starting point of your trek. The trail descends further, passing through forests and crossing suspension bridges over the Budi Gandaki River. You’ll witness the gradual transition from the high mountains to the lower regions. After 6-7 hours of trekking, you will reach Soti Khola, where you will spend the night at a teahouse.

Day 14: Drive from Soti Khola to Kathmandu (1,350m) Duration: 7-8 hours.
After breakfast, you will leave Soti Khola and embark on a scenic drive back to Kathmandu. The journey takes around 7-8 hours, passing through picturesque countryside, terraced fields, and rural settlements. Once you reach Kathmandu, you will be transferred to your hotel. You can spend the evening exploring the vibrant city, shopping for souvenirs, or simply relaxing. Overnight stay at a hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 15: Final Departure day.
Your incredible journey to Ganesh Himal Base Camp comes to an end today. After breakfast, you will be transferred to Tribhuvan International Airport for your departure. You can depart with cherished memories of the beautiful landscapes, cultural encounters, and the warmth of the Nepalese people.
